This is our free 'Webflow for Good' resource giving the facts and showcasing sites for charities and non-profits built using Webflow.

We keep seeing briefs asking for WordPress or open source CMSs. Asking for Wordpress is like commissioning a steam engine: it’s an obsolete technology. As for open source, we love it in theory, but in practice... dependancies and hassles.

Webflow's documentation is great, but it is aimed at makers, not buyers. 'Webflow for Good' is aimed at decision makers.

No technical explanations. No 'how to' videos — just the relatable impact on your day-to-day work, examples of sites as inspiration, and quotes from empowered clients to allay the fear that Webflow is niche or you might get 'locked in'.

Why Webflow is perfect for non-profits

Easy-to-use Editor

Most charity websites are built in WordPress and Drupal. They separate out the front-end and content. With Webflow, you edit content right on your website. No more navigating between the site and content management system when updating your site.

What charities usually ask

Is Webflow open source?

Webflow is not open source. But when people ask for open source, they usually want to avoid lock in. With Webflow all code is exportable, which gives you freedom to move your site.

Is Webflow suitable for every website?

Webflow’s sweet spot is for websites with between 8 and 500 pages, and with between 1 and 5 people updating the site. Below that size you might want to try something like Carrd or Squarespace.

Does Webflow offer non-profit discounts?

Webflow offers 50% discount on hosting for charities. All you need to do is present documentation to prove non-profit status. Agencies can help you with this.

Our site is on WordPress, what'd be the benefit of going with Webflow?

You'd say goodbye to…

  • Rigid themes and templates with design limitations and blockers to scale
  • Bloated code expending extra energy
  • Security vulnerabilities from outdated plugins
  • Clunky content management systems
  • Hard-to-visualise content updates
  • Slow loading times
  • Waiting on developers to add more sections
  • Maintenance headaches
